Two twin little girls that look so completely different, Harper and Sawyer. Before Christmas, their Daddy contacted me about surprising his wife with a Gift Certificate. So, technically... I've been excited about this session for 4 months... just waiting on these twin girls to arrive. They are each so unique and beautiful. One looks just like Mommy and the other looks just like her Daddy.
This smoky pink color backdrop looks so beautiful with the girls.
This pose is called the "potato sack" pose. You can't see it, but I have an assistant on each side of the girls with their hands holding them upright under the layer of fur. They are getting hugged by my assistants.
These girls were most content when touching eachother. They look so womb-like. It's hard to imagine what they must have looked like a few weeks ago in their mommy's tummy.
Sawyer on the top image and Harper on the bottom.
Behind the scenes of my assistants soothing the girls before their bowl shot. It took a few minutes of comfort before the girls were ready. Behind every image is a safety assistant caring and watching over the baby during their pose. Each of my assistants LOVE babies. They each have four babies of their own and enjoy spending time with my littlest clients.
Each baby received macro images in their gallery (close-ups) of their tiny newborn features. Top collage is Sawyer and bottom is Harper.
I typically photograph 2-3 sets of twins a year. Even for a singleton baby, I plan ahead the flow of the session before parents even arrive. I'll pick out the props that will fit the size of the baby, colors of backdrops and wraps that are based on the colors of clients' home and nursery, and have everything laid out ready for parents to see before the session. With twins, I prepare a plan but realize that my ideas can be modified based on feedings, the mood of the baby etc. These girls were very content and needed no modifications from the original plan. We finished the session within 4 hours like a usual singleton newborn session. Then my assistants and I enjoyed some Torchy's Tacos for lunch afterwards.
