Debby Ditta Photography Location Recommendations for 2021

When planning a session with Debby Ditta Photography, I suggest planning in this order:

1. Selecting location  2. Choosing Date and Time for session depending on location 3. Choosing session wardrobe depending on location style and season of the year.

This is a helpful guide to recommended locations that are all close to the 77375 (Tomball) area (exception of Mossy Tree location).   Exact addresses will be given after booking with Debby Ditta Photography.

Grassy Field

One of my favorite locations of all is a grassy field.
Location in Tomball, TX 77375.  This location is best
an hour before sunset.  There is not always a hay roll at the field (we got lucky that day).  Recommended for Maternity, Family, Senior, Sitter Baby, and Children.

Mossy Oak Tree

The Mossy Oak Tree is located in Needville, TX about an hour away from Tomball.   It is a Texas State Park so, entrance fees and reservations are required separately from Debby Ditta Photography (through the Texas Parks website).  In addition to the session investment, there will also be additional travel costs for photographer due to extended mileage from 77375. Please inquire when booking.

Kickerillo Nature Preserve

Family friendly location (one of the few locations with a restroom) close to the Vintage off Louetta.  Some areas of creek, thick trees, grassy areas make this location great for most any time of day.  Best times are early morning and early evening before sunset.

Woodlands Waterway

Located in the Woodlands is this little spot along the waterway.  Parking is at a cost of $10 (client responsibility) and up and the walk to this spot is about 1/4 mile from parking.  The riverwalk is down a flight of stairs but there is an elevator for convenience.  The best time of day is early morning or early evening before sunset.  Depending on time of day and where the sun is hitting, there is a modern looking koi pond, a stone bridge, and riverwalk scenes.  The location is close to many restaurants.

Urban Tomball

This is a great spot because there are so many micro locations all in one area.  Within walking distance there is the Metal Wall, Old Safe, Rustic Porch, Pallet Wall, Aggie Wall, Brick Wall, and Ivy (seasonal).

Best time of day for the spots below is 1-2 hours before sunset.  Family, Maternity, Children, One year Sessions are all recommended here.  This is my favorite location for sitting/newly crawling babies.  Certain spots are good for cake smash sessions too (we clean up after session and leave location better that we arrived).

Metal Wall @ Urban Tomball

Rusty Side of Old Safe @ Urban Tomball

White side of Old Safe @ Urban Tomball

Rustic Porch @ Urban Tomball

Firewood wall @ Urban Tomball

 Tejas  @ Urban Tomball

Aggie Wall @ Urban Tomball

Ivy Patch (Seasonal - late Spring to Summer) @ Urban Tomball

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm

Wanting the Christmas feel this year?  The Old Time Christmas Tree Farm is located off of Spring Cypress in 77379.  This is a Seasonal location by advanced appointment only.  The Farm only allows professional photography during specific days during the Fall Season.  The Farm has additional entry fees of $50 per family that are in addition to the session investment.  Location is recommended for small families (up to 6 people), couples, sitting babies, and children.

Tomball Museum

The #1 location for cake smash sessions is Tomball Museum.  If you like Pottery barn or Chip and Joanna, then you may like this spot.  Sessions are only available before or after their business hours and if they have a tour or event happening, then we will need a back-up location.  Best times for lighting is early morning or 1-2 hours before sunset.  This location is Historic and I have a motto of leaving a place in better condition that when I arrived at the spot, so NO glitter or confetti at this location (or any location for that matter, can we stop this littery trend?) !  I personally help clean porches after EVERY cake smash and it is always cleaner than when we arrived.

Grayson is here! Newborn Session by Houston area Baby Specialist Debby Ditta Photography

Would you believe that little guy with all that hair is a newborn baby at less than 14 days old?  He looks like a little man with all that hair.  His name is Grayson, I love him and he is perfect!   I love him because he is my great-nephew.

Daddy is a Police Officer and I encourage all Military, Police, and Fire (all first responders)  to wear the uniform for a small part of the session.  It's an honor to have Servers in the studio, thank you for what you do for us!

Grayson was born about a month early, but his estimated due date was July 4th.  We incorporated the American flag to celebrate his season.  By the way, this is not a real American flag.  It is a scarf with stars and stripes, but very different from a real flag.  I wouldn't put a real flag on the floor.

Every face is my favorite face.  For every newborn session, I include macro images.  These are close-ups of baby's face, lips, ear, toes, hand, etc.  I have a special lens that allows focus at close distances.  For instance, my lens is about an inch or so away from his sweet little face in some of these images.  I can almost smell his baby breath.

Black and White or color... I cannot decide.

Now that baby Grayson is here, pregnancy is only a memory in photographs.

Twins Harper and Sawyer Newborn Session by Baby Photographer Debby Ditta of Tomball, TX

Two twin little girls that look so completely different, Harper and Sawyer.  Before Christmas, their Daddy contacted me about surprising his wife with a Gift Certificate.  So, technically... I've been excited about this session for 4 months... just waiting on these twin girls to arrive.  They are each so unique and beautiful.  One looks just like Mommy and the other looks just like her Daddy.

This smoky pink color backdrop looks so beautiful with the girls.

This pose is called the "potato sack" pose.  You can't see it, but I have an assistant on each side of the girls with their hands holding them upright under the layer of fur.  They are getting hugged by my assistants.

These girls were most content when touching eachother.  They look so womb-like.  It's hard to imagine what they must have looked like a few weeks ago in their mommy's tummy.

Sawyer on the top image and Harper on the bottom.

Behind the scenes of my assistants soothing the girls before their bowl shot.  It took a few minutes of comfort before the girls were ready.  Behind every image is a safety assistant caring and watching over the baby during their pose.  Each of my assistants LOVE babies.  They each have four babies of their own and enjoy spending time with my littlest clients.

Each baby received macro images in their gallery (close-ups) of their tiny newborn features.   Top collage is Sawyer and bottom is Harper.

I typically photograph 2-3 sets of twins a year.  Even for a singleton baby, I plan ahead the flow of the session before parents even arrive.  I'll pick out the props that will fit the size of the baby, colors of backdrops and wraps that are based on the colors of clients' home and nursery, and have everything laid out ready for parents to see before the session.  With twins, I prepare a plan but realize that my ideas can be modified based on feedings, the mood of the baby etc.  These girls were very content and needed no modifications from the original plan.  We finished the session within 4 hours like a usual singleton newborn session.  Then my assistants and I enjoyed some Torchy's Tacos for lunch afterwards.

Katelyn's Newborn Session by Photographer Debby Ditta of Tomball, Texas

My clients are returning for a newborn session with their third little girl.  Katelyn was welcomed with loving arms by her family.  It seems like I was just photographing big sister Maggie for her newborn session, and I may add... they look so much alike, it was like photographing the same baby all over again.

I have three babies of my own... now they are 16, 13, and 7 years old.  I remember each time a new baby was born, it was like my heart grew bigger with love for each new baby.  It was like I just had my first baby all over again. So, I can imagine how my clients feel bringing in their second...third...fourth...babies.  It's the same love they had for the first every time.

Posing for the newborn with parents is maybe my favorite part of the session.  Sometimes I see new Mommies become overwhelmed with feelings and happy cry.  I'm right there happy crying with them... Pregnancy is long and a hard road sometimes.  I remember thinking it would last forever and then all of the sudden I was holding my new baby.  The newborn session is emotional at times because baby will never be that little ever again.  My own baby is learning how to drive these days... he was once a little 6 pound baby and now he's driving.

Katelyn was the little piece of the puzzle that makes their family complete.

When planning the newborn session ahead of time, I really have no idea how older siblings are going to act for the big sibling and baby part of the session.  There are some exceptions like these sisters.  I knew for sure that they would be so cooperative and gentle with the new baby.  We achieved some family heirloom pictures for their family with these sibling images.

Katelyn's Mommy just told me to do whatever I want, she trusts me with artistry of the session... that's like music to my ears.  I feel my most creative when I hear that... so I came up with this little set up of the garden bed and succulents.  There's a little behind the scenes image at the end of the blog post of what it looks like when capturing this image.

She has such pretty baby features and detailed close ups... those baby feet with chubby toes and little baby fingers...  Her button nose, baby curl, sweet profile are each a piece of art in itself.

You may recognize my clients from a recent blog post featuring their maternity session.  Here is the link to see what they looked like before Katelyn arrived:
