Angie's Senior Session by Tomball, TX Photographer Debby Ditta / Featuring Galveston Texas

Angela <3 I have seen this girl grow up in front of my very eyes. She's a cousin of ours and one of my very first "Mini Session" clients from back when she was a toddler. I know she is going to be a success at whatever she does and am looking forward to seeing her spread her wings and fly.

Even though there is many beautiful newborn babies in my work, I still photograph seniors... and love them!  For Angela's session, we met in Galveston and did a little tour of locations.  I hopped in the car with her Mom and we drove around and stopped whenever we saw something with character.  There's so much character in Galveston because it's a historic city.  Many of the buildings we used as backdrops were over 100 years old.

In a senior session, I recommend the client to have at least 2 clothing changes.  In the previous group of images, I looked for a location that would complement the black and white in Angie's dress and hat.  For her red lace top, I looked for a location with warmer color bricks like the peach/red as shown on the brick building.  For variety in the session, she changed from the black dress to the red top. Keep in mind, I do not bring a dressing room with me, so clients change in vehicles (just like the supermodels do, right?)

Downtown Galveston is only about 10 minutes from the beach.  So just before the sun started to set, we left downtown and headed for the beach.  There's a spot on the beach called The Pleasure Pier that provides a fun and colorful backdrop we used for the last part of the session.

You can't tell just by looking at her beautiful smile and sundress... but it was soooo unseasonably cold and windy for this session. That's the kind of girl Angela is... no complaining from her... she said "it's no big deal, I'm used to this"... as my teeth were chattering from the cold.

Hannah's Newborn Session by Debby Ditta Photography of Tomball / Houston Texas

I had a little surprise last fall when I photographed the C family for their Fall Family Session.  Lisa had brought a book titled "I'm a big sister" and wanted to pose her daughter holding the book as a pregnancy announcement.  Fast forward to now and here is baby Hannah for her newborn session!

Even though I purchased this prop a few years ago, I think this is the first time I have used it for a newborn. Her Daddy saw it in the studio and wanted to use it for his baby girl. How sweet is that?!? The bowl has an interesting history...it is hand carved from the gnarled stump roots of a type of fir tree found in the mountains of China. 

 I don't see many blonde babies with hair like her <3

3 year old big sister, Reagan, may have a future in newborn photography.  I thought this pull back was so adorable <3 

Today the jasmine vine was blooming in my backyard, so I cut some and weaved it into my boho teepee prop.  The whole studio smelled of sweet jasmine.

Oh my goodness ...If you look up the word "LOVE" in the dictionary, this image would be there.

Sweeter than cupcakes...  Sisters Hannah and Reagan... One day soon, they will share Barbies, dresses and lip-gloss, but right now they are tiny best friends

Layla's Newborn Session by Houston Photographer Debby Ditta Photography of Tomball Texas

Layla was born a little early and photographed on her actual due date.  What a perfect date for her newborn session.  Before the session, I preselected the props, backdrops, and newborn prop clothing based on the style of her parents.  Before Layla was born, her Mother and I consulted by phone about the colors she liked, her style of the baby's future room and the style/colors of their home decor.

She also mentioned that she'd like to use the American Flag somehow (being a June baby) and use the flag images for her birth announcements to be sent around the 4th of July. Shhhhhhh... it's a secret :)

I recently found this toddler chair and floral tin at Canton trade days (aka. photographer's prop treasure hunt paradise).    I've been wanting to use it for a newborn session and what a perfect little baby to photograph on the chair!  Summer succulents are a must have photo accessory for summer babies too.

She gave us the prettiest newborn smile... we all melted in the studio over this happy baby.  She must have been dreaming of chocolate, unicorns, and butterflies.

Her Daddy picked out the props for this set.  He liked the white bucket and "Braveheart" mossy crown tieback.  Mommy selected the white lace bowl stuffer.  I think it all looks so beautifully composed together.

She has the best newborn baby chick hair.

When we had Layla's session, I had no idea that it would be Flag Day during the week.  How perfect to have posed a new little life with our nation's flag.  The future of America.

Newborn Session - Baby Ethan by Tomball Newborn Photographer Debby Ditta Photography

Ethan is the first baby in the family to his parents.  My first baby was a boy too.  I remember those days that seemed to last forever.... It felt like he would always be little and my son being "big" seemed so far away.  It felt like just a few months ago that we were baby registering at Target and buying diapers in expectations of meeting our first baby.  Time has flown so quickly and I can hardly remember how small my little newborn was.  My son is a teenager now and if I didn't have pictures of him, I wouldn't remember how tiny he was.  Newborn photography is one of the few things on earth that actually increases in value over time.  Of course, it is sentimental value, but absolutely priceless!

Ethan's Daddy will one day very soon be putting golf balls with his son, but for now, he's still so little...

Ethan will have many sleepless nights, but right now... he's sleeping like a baby.

In a year, Ethan will be too big to fit inside the Borden's box...

In a month, Ethan will be to big to cuddle with his Mother just like this.

Ethan will always have a memory as a photograph of his Daddy kissing his sweet little head.

And three make a family.

These are my two favorite poses for parents.  It really slows time down for the day.  Baby will one day picking flowers for his Mommy and be "fixing things" with  Daddy and his box of tools... but for one day at Ethan's newborn session... he fit into his parents arms just like this.
